Online Quran Classes in Texas | Learn Quran Live from Home
Tawhid Academy teaches the Quran online to students across Texas, from the busy suburbs of Houston and Dallas to small towns far from any Islamic center. Lessons are private, live over video and booked in Central Time. The first class is free, with a teacher matched to the student’s age and level.
Online Quran Classes in Texas | Lessons That Work Across a Big State
Online Quran classes in Texas are one-on-one video lessons with a live teacher, booked in Central Time and attended from your own home.
Texas covers a lot of ground. A family in the Houston suburbs can lose an hour on the freeway just reaching a weekend class, and a family in a smaller town may not have a qualified Quran teacher within driving distance at all.
Online lessons take distance out of the picture. The teacher joins by video at the hour you choose, so nobody sits in traffic, plans around the school run or gives up the lesson because the nearest class is too far away.
What the student gets is steady correction. Reading improves when a teacher listens closely, stops at each mistake and asks for the line again. Every Tawhid Academy lesson is one-on-one for exactly that reason: the full session belongs to one student’s recitation.

Learn Quran Online in Texas | Pick the Course That Fits the Student
A short level check in the free trial decides where the student begins. The other courses follow in order as reading improves.
Noorani Qaida
For anyone who has never read Arabic script. The teacher goes through each letter, its sound and the short vowels slowly, then has the student join letters into words until reading starts to feel natural.
Tafseer
For students who read comfortably and want to understand what they recite: the meaning of the verses, the setting they were revealed in and the lessons they carry.
Quran Reading for Beginners
Once the letters are secure, the student starts reading real verses aloud. The teacher follows along line by line and stops at each slip, so small habits do not harden into big ones.
Quran with Tajweed
Tajweed covers where each sound comes from and how long it is held. The teacher listens live and corrects on the spot, which sticks far better than a rule memorized from a chart.
Quran Memorization (Hifz)
Learning a new portion is only half the work. The teacher builds a daily routine around fresh lines and revision of older ones, sized to the time the student can really give.
Ijazah Program
The advanced route for students who want to complete their recitation under a qualified teacher and earn an Ijazah, a formal authorization in Quran recitation.
Online Quran Classes in Texas | Who Our Classes Are Built For
Find the student below to see the usual starting point and the plan most families look at first.
Young children, ages 4 to 10
A child who has never seen Arabic letters begins with Noorani Qaida. One teacher and one child means no classmates racing ahead, which helps children who get shy in a group.
Usual start: Noorani Qaida. Plan to consider: Starter.
Teens and school-age students
Between homework, sports and school events, teens need a slot that moves when the week does. The teacher finds the point where reading became shaky and rebuilds from there.
Usual start: Quran Reading or Tajweed, set by the level check. Plan to consider: Standard.
New Muslims and adult beginners
No Arabic background is needed. In a private lesson you can ask the most basic questions without worrying about holding anyone up.
Usual start: Noorani Qaida. Plans to consider: Starter or Standard.
Adults who read and want cleaner recitation
If you already read the Quran and want your pronunciation sharpened, the teacher listens as you recite and fixes each slip as it happens.
Usual start: Quran with Tajweed. Plan to consider: Intensive.
These are starting points, not fixed paths. The teacher confirms the right course after a short level check in the free trial class.
Online or In-Person Class in Texas | How to Choose
Private online lessons suit families who need flexible hours or live far from a teacher, and a local masjid class suits those who want a community around the learning. Many families use both.
Online one-on-one lessons fit well if:
- lessons have to fit around school, work or a long drive
- you want every minute spent on your own recitation
- the student is shy in groups, or you are an adult who prefers privacy
- there is no qualified teacher within a reasonable drive of home
A local class may fit better if:
- you want classmates and a masjid community around the learning
- a young child concentrates best with a teacher in the room
- you prefer a fixed group timetable set by the center
A common mix is a weekend class for community and private online lessons during the week for focused correction.

One new letter, rule or passage is introduced and worked through together.
Recitation
The student reads aloud while the teacher listens for pronunciation and flow, correcting as they go.
Take-home task
The teacher closes with a task for the week and flags what to watch for.
Between Lessons | Practice That Keeps Progress Going
Ten focused minutes a day does more than one long session the night before class.
Read a little every day
Going over the assigned portion for even ten minutes keeps the teacher’s corrections fresh.
Keep one weekly slot
A fixed time makes the class part of the routine, which matters most for younger students.
Use headphones in a quiet room
Clear audio lets the student hear small differences in how the teacher pronounces each sound.
Stay close with young children
For ages 4 to 10, a parent nearby in the first lessons helps with setup and with holding attention.

Online Quran Classes Texas | Class Timings in Central Time
Lessons run in Central Time every day of the week, so after school, evenings and weekends are all open for booking.
Schedules change, and your lesson time can change with them.
Most of Texas follows Central Time, which is one hour behind the East Coast and two hours ahead of California. El Paso and Hudspeth County keep Mountain Time, so families there tell us when they book and the teacher confirms the hour in local time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What time zone are the online Quran classes in Texas?
Central Time, which covers most of the state. Families in El Paso and Hudspeth County are on Mountain Time, so mention it when you book and the teacher will confirm the hour in your local time.
Do I need to live near a big city?
No. Lessons happen over video, so students in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, the Rio Grande Valley and every smaller town in between join on the same terms.
Is every lesson private?
Yes. The teacher works with one student at a time and plans each lesson around that student’s level.
My child has never read Arabic. Where do we begin?
With Noorani Qaida, which teaches the letters, their sounds and the short vowels from scratch. The Starter plan is built for complete beginners aged 4 to 10.
How do we know which course to start with?
During the free trial class the teacher runs a short level check and recommends a starting point, so nobody has to guess.
What is Noorani Qaida?
Noorani Qaida is a beginner’s primer for reading Arabic as it appears in the Quran. It covers the letters, their sounds, the short vowels and how letters join, so a student can start reading verses correctly.
What is Tajweed and why does it matter?
Tajweed is the set of rules for reciting the Quran correctly, including where each sound is produced and how long it is held. It is best learned with a teacher, because pronunciation mistakes are easiest to catch by ear.
How long does it take to learn to read the Quran?
It depends on where the student starts, their age and how often they practice between lessons. A learner who already knows the letters will move faster than one beginning with Noorani Qaida. After the level check in the free trial, the teacher can give a realistic picture for that student.
Is learning the Quran online as good as learning in person?
It can be, when the lesson is live and one-on-one, because the teacher hears every recitation and corrects it straight away. Pre-recorded videos cannot do that. If you also want a community setting, a weekend class near you can sit alongside private online lessons.
Can adults and new Muslims join?
Yes. Adults at any level can start, from the first letters through to Tajweed correction. The Standard and Intensive plans suit most adults.
Can we ask for a male or female teacher?
Yes. Mention your preference when you book the free trial and we will match you accordingly.
What do the online Quran classes cost in Texas?
Starter is $30 a month for three lessons a week, Standard is $40 for four and Intensive is $45 for five. A custom plan is available, and every plan begins with a free trial class.
Can lessons be planned around school holidays?
Yes. A Custom plan can be built around school breaks, so ask about it when you book the free trial.
Do you teach Hifz and Ijazah?
Yes, both live and one-on-one.
What do we need to get started?
A phone, tablet or computer, steady internet and a quiet place. Lessons run on Zoom or Skype, and we help with setup before the first class.
