Online Quran Classes in Michigan | Live One-on-One Lessons from Home
Tawhid Academy teaches the Quran online to students across Michigan, from the first letters through to Tajweed, Hifz and Ijazah. Every lesson is private, live over video and booked in Eastern Time. When snow closes the roads, the class still runs. The first class is free, with a teacher matched to the student’s age and level.
Online Quran Classes in Michigan | Lessons That Carry On in Every Season
Online Quran classes in Michigan are private live video lessons with a Quran teacher, booked in Eastern Time and taken from home.
A Michigan week has a lot in it: early school starts, commutes across metro Detroit or out to the suburbs, and winters when a snowstorm can shut the roads and the school together. A Quran class that depends on a drive does not last through all of that.
An online lesson does not depend on the road. The teacher joins by video at the agreed hour, so a snow day, an icy morning or a slow drive home from work does not cancel the class.
Michigan also has strong masjid communities, from Dearborn and Hamtramck to Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor, and many families already attend a weekend program. Private online lessons sit comfortably beside that. The weekend class brings community, and the private lesson gives one student a teacher who listens to every line and corrects it on the spot.

Learn Quran Online in Michigan | Six Courses in a Logical Order
A short level check in the free trial decides where each student starts, and the courses build on one another from there.
Noorani Qaida
Where a student who is new to Arabic script begins. The letters, the sound of each one and the short vowels come in small steps, until the student can read simple words alone.
Tafseer
For students who read comfortably and want to understand what they recite: the context of the verses, their meaning and the guidance they hold.
Quran Reading for Beginners
Once the letters are secure, the student reads real verses while the teacher listens to each line. Slips are fixed as they happen, so habits do not set before they are corrected.
Quran with Tajweed
The rules behind clear, accurate recitation: where each sound comes from and how long it is held. Because the lesson is live, the teacher can say the fix aloud and hear you repeat it straight away.
Quran Memorization (Hifz)
Memorization sticks when new verses are paired with steady revision of old ones. The teacher builds a daily routine around the time the student truly has, school weeks and winter breaks included.
Ijazah Program
The advanced route, for students who want to complete their recitation under a qualified teacher and receive an Ijazah, a formal authorization in Quran recitation.
Online Quran Classes in Michigan | Which Course Fits Which Student
Find the student below to see the usual starting point and the plan most families look at first.
Young children, ages 4 to 10
Most begin with Noorani Qaida. With a teacher focused on one child, there are no classmates to compare with, and lessons can stay calm and unhurried.
Usual start: Noorani Qaida. Plan to consider: Starter.
Teens and school-age students
For students who stumble when reading or have drifted away from lessons. The teacher finds where confidence slipped, rebuilds from that point and plans around the school day.
Usual start: Quran Reading or Tajweed, set by the level check. Plan to consider: Standard.
New Muslims and adult beginners
No Arabic background is needed. A private lesson means you can ask the simple questions without hesitation and move at the pace that suits you.
Usual start: Noorani Qaida. Plans to consider: Starter or Standard.
Adults who read and want cleaner recitation
If you already read the Quran and want your pronunciation tightened, the teacher listens while you recite and corrects it right then.
Usual start: Quran with Tajweed. Plan to consider: Intensive.
These are starting points, not fixed paths. The teacher confirms the right course after a short level check in the free trial class.
Online or Masjid Class | Choosing for Your Family
Private online lessons suit families who want a steady schedule and individual correction, while a masjid class suits those who want community around the learning. Many Michigan families use both.
Online one-on-one lessons suit you if:
- winter weather or a long drive often disrupts in-person plans
- you want the whole lesson spent on your own recitation
- the student is shy in a group, or you are an adult who prefers privacy
- the teacher you want is not close to home
A masjid or local class may suit you if:
- you want classmates and a community around the learning
- a young child concentrates better with a teacher in the room
- you prefer a fixed group timetable that someone else sets
Plenty of students pair a weekend masjid class with private online lessons for focused correction.

A little practice each day helps more than one long session a week.
Read for ten minutes a day

Keep the weekly slot, snow or not
Lessons run online, so a snowy day does not have to break the routine, and a fixed slot is what turns a class into a habit.

Headphones and a calm spot let the student hear every sound the teacher models.
Sit close by for young children
For ages 4 to 10, a parent nearby during the first lessons helps with setup and with holding attention.

Frequently Asked Questions
What time zone are the online Quran classes in Michigan in?
Eastern Time, with a Central Time option for the few Upper Peninsula counties that use it. Lessons are booked one student at a time, so you choose the hour that fits your household, whether that is before school, after school, in the evening or at the weekend.
Do I need to live in a particular Michigan city?
No. Lessons happen over video, so students in Detroit, Dearborn, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Troy and everywhere else in the state join on the same terms.
Do lessons still happen when it snows?
Yes. Because the lesson is online, a snowstorm or icy roads do not cancel it. The student only needs working power and internet.
Is every lesson private?
Yes. The teacher works with one student at a time and builds each lesson around that student’s level.
My child has never read Arabic. Where do we begin?
With Noorani Qaida, which teaches the letters, their sounds and the short vowels from scratch. The Starter plan is designed for complete beginners aged 4 to 10.
How do we know which course to start with?
The teacher runs a short level check during the free trial class and suggests a starting point, so nobody has to guess.
What is Noorani Qaida?
Noorani Qaida is a beginner’s primer for reading Arabic as it appears in the Quran. It covers the letters, their sounds, the short vowels and how letters join, so a student can begin reading verses correctly.
What is Tajweed and why does it matter?
Tajweed is the set of rules for reciting the Quran correctly, including where each sound is produced and how long it is held. It is best learned with a teacher, because pronunciation mistakes are easiest to catch by ear.
How long does it take to learn to read the Quran?
It depends on where the student starts, their age and how often they practice between lessons. Someone who already knows the letters will move faster than a student starting from Noorani Qaida. After the level check in the free trial, the teacher can give a realistic picture for that student.
Is learning the Quran online as good as learning in person?
It can be, when the lesson is live and one-on-one, because the teacher hears every recitation and corrects it straight away. Pre-recorded videos cannot do that.
Can online lessons go alongside a weekend masjid class?
Yes, and many students do both. The masjid class brings community, and the private online lesson gives one-on-one correction on the student’s own recitation.
Can adults and new Muslims join?
Yes. Adults at any level can start, from the first letters through to Tajweed correction. The Standard and Intensive plans suit most adults.
Can we ask for a male or female teacher?
Yes. Mention your preference when you book the free trial and we will match you accordingly.
What do the plans cost?
Starter is $30 a month for three lessons a week, Standard is $40 for four and Intensive is $45 for five. A custom plan is available, and every plan begins with a free trial class.
Do you teach Hifz and Ijazah?
Yes, both live and one-on-one.
What do we need to get started?
A phone, tablet or computer, steady internet and a quiet place. Lessons run on Zoom, and we help with setup before the first class.
